The traditional method of crawlspace cleaning, while effective, was often not permanent. Unless the source of water intrusion is identified and stopped, the crawlspace will have recurring humidity problems, often resulting in mold and wood rotting. In severe cases, hardwood floors above the crawlspace will exhibit cupping due to the swelling of close fitting boards.

Grinding the mold off of the structural members is very labor intensive, expensive and unless the water source is stopped -- it is only temporary.
